These six steps contributed significantly to my weight loss journey.

It means work. Like britney said:

You better work bitch!

The most effective way for me to lose weight is as follows:

  1. Engage in a daily walking routine, covering a minimum distance of 3.3 kilometers (approximately 2 miles). Walking more than this is acceptable. However, be cautious not to put excessive stress on your feet and knees.I learned this the hard way when I was walking 10,000 steps a day and developed plantar fasciitis, as described in the Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantar_fasciitis). It took at least six months for the condition to gradually improve, even after I stopped walking altogether.
  2. Fasting. Try working towards consuming only one meal a day (OMAD), but you can start by attempting the 16/8 fast. This method requires eating within an 8-hour window during the day and abstaining from food for the remaining 16 hours. During the fasting period, you can have water, coffee, or tea, but no solid food. For instance, you could choose to eat between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
  3. Do not drink alcohol.
  4. Cut down on sugar, steer clear of sugary products, but feel free to enjoy fruits because of their natural sugars. Opt for fresh, unprocessed items, and adopt a diet of whole, natural foods to promote better health.
  5. Make sure to include a diverse range of leafy greens in your diet. By consuming various types of leafy greens, you can benefit from a wide array of essential nutrients and promote a healthier lifestyle. Incorporate options like spinach, kale, arugula, and collard greens to add both flavour and nutritional value to your meals. Remember, the key is to enjoy a colourful and nutrient-rich assortment of leafy greens to support your overall well-being.
  6. Prioritise getting adequate rest by aiming for around 8 hours of sleep each night. Quality sleep is essential for overall well-being and has numerous health benefits. Ensure you create a conducive sleep environment and establish a consistent bedtime routine to improve the quality of your sleep. Remember, making sleep a priority will contribute significantly to your physical and mental health.

I began making significant changes to my lifestyle, habits, and eating patterns around August 2022. As of the current writing, it has been approximately a year since then. Initially, I weighed 115kg, but now I have managed to reduce my weight to around 92kg.

Of course, I will continue on this path because losing weight is just the first step; the second is maintaining it.
