Floppy Disks LOL better save this.

I was today years old when I learned that the name “Floppy” was actually based on that these disk were “floppy” as in flexible! This was really an epiphany because the Floppy Drives I knew where rather solid like the following picture.

But there were also floppy disk likes these

Which were flexible and would ‘flop’ around when shaken. So they could be called “Wonky” disk drives :)

I guess I knew it all.

So did you know why this was called a floppy disk?
